Our Special Needs & Diversity committee works to raise awareness about the myriad of communities that make up our school and community. Through beautiful displays and informational presentations, each month our Wildcat students, faculty, and staff learn about different cultures, the prestigious figures from those cultures, and their contributions. Moreover, each month a neurodivergent diagnosis or physcial disability is highlighted. Within that recognition myths are disspelled, facts are highlighted, and individuals with that diagnosis are celebrated.
AFTER SCHOOL SNACK
We've created a fun program called After School Snack. This program provides opportunities for students to hear from and experience foods from different cultures. In honor of Filipino American Heritage Month and Hispanic Heritage Month, the Special Education & Diversity Chair provided Strawberry Aqua Fresca and Horchata. We also had Filipino doughnuts called Bicho Bicho, which was a huge hit! Special thanks to the anonymous donor for sponsoring the Bicho Bicho. Also, special thanks to Angie's Bakery, a wonderful Filipino bakery who made the doughnuts.
