Over the last two school years our librarians have arranged three author talk events for our GBHS students. One of the best ways for students to get a glimpse of different careers and pathways is to hear from those who have charted their own path. 

We love providing students an opportunity to hear from authors as they discuss their writing process, stories behind their novels, and the obstacles they faced in navigating their way in the publishing world. Even for those students who aren't big readers or haven't considered picking up a pencil to write a verse, this experience highlights the myriad of personalities and backgrounds that encompass the books that line a library's shelves.
